The exhibition presents a new series of works based on Lars Christensen’s dedicated artistic research of painting as a medium.
With color as a marker, Christensen reveals breaking points of the canvas and promotes the sculptural qualities of his materials. As in the color industry, the quality of color in Christensen’s work consists in its ability to evoke emotions–not in the artist himself, but in others. Emotions that incite the viewer to step closer to see not what the painting represents, but its actual body.
