A unique cultural experience is coming to passengers traveling by bus across Guldborgsund Municipality. From May 28th to 31st, five emerging local artists will have their work showcased on posters throughout selected Movia bus lines as part of the Art Matter Local Festival.
The participating routes include lines 701, 702, 703, 730, 731, 737, 741, and 742.
The initiative highlights works by self-taught, non-professional artists from the region, selected through an open call competition organized by Movia in collaboration with Art Matter. A jury composed of representatives from Movia, Art Matter, and Fuglsang Art Museum reviewed numerous submissions and selected five standout artists whose pieces will be featured across the municipality.
Stine Sander, Director of Customer and Communications at Movia, comments:
“Supporting local artists and strengthening the cultural fabric of our communities is incredibly important to us. In Guldborgsund, passengers can now experience five original artworks while commuting – an everyday encounter with creativity and local identity. We are proud of our collaboration with Art Matter and deeply impressed by the quality and thoughtfulness of all submissions. What makes this project especially meaningful is that the selected artists are locally rooted. Their works reflect and resonate with the community because they are created by those who live, work, and breathe the spirit of the region. We hope this inspires and brings joy to everyone who steps onto a bus.”
