On 3 June 2026, the artist duo Gamborg Magnussen will present a new bronze sculpture in Axelborg’s rotunda at The Danish Agriculture & Food Council in Copenhagen. The public will be able to experience the work alongside a series of new pieces — exclusively on this one day.
Furrow consists of casts of plough furrows created in connection with a land art work at Moesgaard Museum in 2022. A long, narrow strip of land was ploughed, after which a temporary moulding and casting workshop was established around the furrow. In this way, the trace of the plough was preserved and made movable.
At Axelborg, the plough furrow emerges as an overlooked material surface of cultivation, labour, and repetition. As the furrow is moved from the field into the headquarters of The Danish Agriculture & Food Council, the work opens up connections between agriculture, civilisation, and cultural heritage.
The exhibition activates Axelborg’s rotunda as a space, a passage, and a symbolic structure. After the presentation, the bronze sculpture will be transported to Aarhus, where it will be permanently installed.
Gamborg Magnussen is an artist duo consisting of Karen Gamborg Knudsen and Kasper Magnussen. Their practice moves between sculpture, architecture, landscape, and performative events.
The work is supported by Kirsten and Gunnar Fonden and the Danish Arts Foundation. Kirsten and Gunnar Fonden is a charitable foundation that supports art and cultural life in Aarhus Municipality.
