They have both been trained as painters but have been working with textiles and different techniques creating intricate and complex motives and designs that are equally appealing for their artistic quality and as for their social commentary.
Chiachio & Giannone will have an exhibition in the Studio opening in May 2026 where we will present a selection of their work spanning the different styles and techniques that they have used over the past twenty years. In addition to this, the artists have been commissioned to produce a large-scale textile together with Wanås visitors to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Wanås Konst in 2027.
The participatory project will be launched in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition and includes, among other things, a drop-in workshop in the exhibition, where visitors are invited to contribute to the artwork. Chiachio & Giannone will return to Wanås in April 2027 to finish the new textile which will then be shown as part of Wanås Anniversary program in 2027.
