Tour Life (2026) is a new collaborative video work bringing together the practices of Freja Sofie Kirk and Nellie Lindquist for the first time.
In Tour Life a large mobile hydraulic stage is shown slowly unfolding. Moving up and down, as if it is breathing, it mechanically unfolds itself like a flower, or an animal waking up. Commonly used for the fast setup of outdoor events, mobile hydraulic stages can easily be disassembled and transported. In this way, they provide flexible infrastructure for facilitating shared experiences and emotions.
Reflecting a shared interest in how emotions are manufactured and performed through images and physical structures, Freja Sofie Kirk and Nellie Lindquist’s video work Tour Life traces how collective images and emotions are produced, and, quite literally, staged, through the choreography of the unfolding of the stage.
