As a child, Sidsel Vadsholt cut out fine paper cuttings with small embroidery scissors with her mother. They were finely meshed nets with chickens, ducks or a hare. She investigated how she could make cuttings with other animals.
As an adult, she has participated in a few courses in the wonderful world of Henri Matisse. Many people only know him for his paintings, but in his later years he made paper cuttings with his large scissors in the workshop. Sidsel Vadsholt has for long loved that approach to images and those paper cuttings. And the courses gave a new angle to cuttings.
During ArtMatter, she shows older ones as well as new paper cuttings. Among them are the brand new The Four Seasons in size 59*84 cm.

For the past 1½ years, Laila Cichos has focused on what happens when you dive into the depths of the soul wearing only your creativity and great curiosity. Using the body as a starting point, it has led to quite a few journeys, which her current exhibition focuses on. It's trippy, it's universal, and it's colorful when the images reach their final destination.
