Laying and setting mosaic tiles is a workshop run by the graphical artist Anneli Olesen. The participants of the workshop are the residents and staff of Ørestad Senior Center, who look forward to your involvement as well should you be interested.
We will be primarily working with a piece of mosaic art. Mosaics are small colored tiles often made of glass, marble or similar materials; which when put together, create a picture, pattern or figure of sorts.
The idea behind this art project is to acknowledge that we are all unique individuals and therefore express ourselves in different ways. We will work with the mosaic concept, but the material used will not be as a tile in glass or stone, but wooden material.
Anneli Olesen is a graphic designer that works not only with typography but with geometric, organic and abstract shapes and objects on wood. Her projects feature a variety of colors and graphical shapes in which spatiality is achieved in the displacements and juxtapositions of the art works.
