What does art look like when young people reinterpret historical works through a contemporary lens? In this exhibition, students from FGU present their own pieces inspired by The South Sea Painters – a collection created by artists who lived and worked on the South Sea Islands of Denmark during the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.
With a focus on sustainability, nature, and recycled materials, the students have created new artworks that enter into dialogue with the originals. Visitors are invited into a vibrant and creative tower as part of the Art Matter Festival – a satellite event that highlights contemporary art, community, and environmental awareness.
Come and experience how art can build connections between generations, places, and ideas.
