Tine Bek works across photography, film and sculpture. With a background in history and an MA in Fine Art Photography and Moving Image from the Glasgow School of Art, she explores how images and objects can shift our perception of the familiar. Bek approaches the image as something relational – part of a larger visual system in which photographs can mirror, rhyme with and contradict one another.
In 2024, Fotografisk Center presented her first institutional solo exhibition in Denmark, This Ship is Unsinkable. Her monograph The Vulgarity of Being Three-Dimensional (2022) received the Hasselblad Foundation’s Photobook Prize, and her work is included in the National Photo Collection at the Royal Danish Library. Bek has exhibited nationally and internationally and is represented by Stieglitz 19 in Belgium and Vasto in Spain.
Her work has also been published in Vogue, AnOther Magazine and The Wire, among others.
