Museum of Contemporary Art
Denmark’s only art museum without a permanent building

Roskilde
The Museum of Contemporary Art was established in 1991 following the Fluxus festival Festival of Fantastics, which took place in Roskilde in 1985.
Over time, the museum has supported and collected experimental art from 1960 and onwards, with a focus on ephemeral formats such as performance and sound art.
In 2021, the museum moved out of the Yellow Palace and is now Denmark’s only art museum without a permanent building. The goal is to create an accessible, engaged, and ever-changing museum that explores new ways of communicating contemporary art.
