Communication
Senko Studio is situated in a small alley, behind the main pedestrian street in Viborg, Denmark. The location is not the only unique element about the gallery – Senko Studio is presenting new contemporary experimental art from all over the world.

The main focus at Senko Studio is installation, video, photo and collage art, and the key word in the gallery is communication. The homepage has high priority as a window for promoting the gallery throughout the world. Furthermore it is the ambition of Senko Studio to integrate experimental contemporary art into the structure of the city, and to make art a part of the image of the city.

SErgei SviacheENKO

Frame and Window
Two related exhibition activities have developed alongside the gallery: Senko Frame and Senko Window. Senko Window is a wall in the alley next to the exhibitionroom. Every second month one artist is selected, which again selects another artist to work together with. They are then given free hands to use the wall for artistic purposes.

Senko Frame is a big screen placed in the window in the exhibitionroom. Every evening an art video is shown from 7 til 10 pm. On the same time the art video is shown on Senko Studios homepage.

Through Frame and Window the gallery has the opportunity to show several artists at the same time, and let different medias come in to play.

Non-commercial exhibitionroom
Art is what it is all about. Name and reputation comes second when it comes to finding the exhibiting artists. That is what gives the gallery a very open and uncomplicated acces to art. Artists presented in Senko Studio, comes from all parts of the world, and they all have different angels to the visual style, concept and choice of media. Because Senko Studio is a non-commercial exhibitionspace, Sergei does not need to use any energy in considering, wether the exhibited art can pay the rent or not. That element gives a certain amount of freedom, which more conventional galleries rarely have.

Collage art in the future
Senko Studio is to Sergei Sviatchenko a platform where new ideas and projects emerge. The gallery owner hopes to be able to expand Senko Studio into a new museum for collage art. It will be the first museum for collage art in Europe, and will also include temporary exhibitions of contemporary experimental art. The idea has been developed in cooperation with the organization Senko Studio Friends supporting the gallery. The plans for Art Forum Senko are developing, but sponsors are needed to make the project possible.

Senko Magazine
Senko Magazine for Contemporary Images is the name for a new project soon to be realised. The internet-based magazine will communicate collages, videos, installation and photo art out to the world. The visions for Senko Magazine are related to the ones for Senko Studio. Both projects are driven by the same desire to communicate and pass on, the experimental contemporary art out to Viborg and the world.
