SIC | Sharing is Caring

New exhibition space in Vesterbro.

SIC | Sharing is Caring is a new exhibition space located on Flensborggade 57 in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. The space is run by the curators Malou Solfjeld, Anna fernsten Nilén and Josephine Fity, who work through a dynamic and collective curatorial practice, taking turns developing exhibitions, programs, and projects.
The name reflects an ambition to create an open and experimental community where artists and cultural practitioners can meet across disciplines and develop new collaborations. With a focus on interdisciplinary formats and experimental practices, SIC functions as a platform for both established and emerging artists, actively contributing to Copenhagen’s contemporary art scene through exhibitions, screenings, readings, and performative events.
At the same time, SIC emerges in response to the ongoing transformation of Vesterbro, where offices and commercial chains are increasingly displacing community-oriented and artist-led spaces. SIC positions itself as a counter-movement and a space of care for creative expression, public discourse, and the strengthening of solidarity within the precariat.
Rooted in the history and identity of Vesterbro, SIC aims to reactivate the creative spirit that has long defined the neighborhood. The creative community has been central to the area’s distinct character, and SIC seeks to continue this legacy while fostering new connections—building on a cultural heritage that includes voices such as Tove Ditlevsen.
